Audi, Ingolstadt - Driving Experience Center
With the completion of the Audi Driving Experience Center west of Ingolstadt Audi customers and guests get attractive opportunities to dynamically experience the Audi product range. Audi creates an integral brand presentation, in which the brand messages are conveyed across multiple channels and event types.
In addition to a 30,000 m² of dynamic test area on which the limits of physics can be explored under realistic conditions, the 47ha site in Neuburg (Danube) provides a 3.4km road circuit.
BFE Studio und Medien Systeme GmbH realized the entire media technology infrastructure of the new building. One of the challenges in this project was the 4.80 x 2.80m large monitor wall with 16 seamless full HD 55” monitors which welcomes the visitors when entering the building. The monitor wall is recorded in 3 D with the especially manufactured digital signage software „AMMS (Audi Multi Media System) Octopos“. By default, the films are given in 4K. Font-inserts are placed in a separate layer with 8K resolution on the 4K films to achieve the optimum sharpness. Each monitor is separately controlled in full HD. Thus, not the traditional split-screen technology is used, but the picture is driven from 16 full HD monitors to provide a significantly higher picture quality.
Especially for Audi, a series of approximately 50 monitors with an extremely high luminance of 800 nit was produced. Thus, the currently brightest 30-polarization monitors worldwide are operating in the Driving Experience Center.
The entire building has been divided into 42 event zones that can be differently sonicated with different scenarios. The room control was realized via a Crestron media control, which regulates not only audio, but also light via DMX according to the preprogramed scenarios.
With corresponding door contacts, the current room configuration is reported to the Crestron system and the room-foyer lighting and as well as sound reinforcement is adapted accordingly.
When the entire conference area is open and equipped with seats, it has a capacity of around 200 people. At the top end of the conference area, there is a 7.30 x 2 m large video wall consisting of 18 55 "displays. With an aspect ratio of 32: 9, it allows to show two full HD presentations simultaneously. With preprogramed modes it is also possible to occupy the entire width with a presentation, show a full HD presentation centrally or choose other constellations.
In foremost of the three conference rooms a 3.60 x 2 m monitor wall with nine 55"displays has been installed. In the central conference room, however, it is possible to place a monitor wall via a mobile stele.
BFE Studio und Medien Systeme GmbH realized this technically demanding project in just nine months and has thus met Audi’s objective to present themselves as a holistic brand.
